Summer holidays are all about getting plenty of sun and lazing on a golden sandy beach all day with a cool drink in your hand.

If catching the sun is your top priority, with 320 days of sunshine per year, Cabo Roig is the ideal place to come if you're seeking the sun, and the facilities and location of La Rotonda Aparthotel will ensure that you're in the right place at the right time.

Local beaches include Playa Cabo Roig, Playa Capitan and Playa La Zenia and they are all Blue Flag beaches with a dozen more to choose from within 5-10 minutes drive. From La Rotonda you can walk to the beach in minutes, you have a fantastic view of the sea from most of the balconys (beachside) on the complex.

Most beaches have rocky coves and beautiful marinas, offering safe swimming, fishing, scuba diving and boating.

Here are a few of the nearest beaches

Playa Cabo Roig is the nearest beach to the complex (7 min walk) and is a beautiful beach. It is situated in a large cove which makes the sea here very calm and good for swimming. It has a beach bar and beatuiful marina with a restaurant, which stays open into the small hours through the summer. Also, you will find a marina and water-sports.

Playa Capitan this beach has just been awarded the highest rank, the Q award. this is higher than a blue flag award, this means Beach Capitan is not only a very clean beach (apart from it's clear blues waters) but is also a very safe beach, with well trained personal to deal with first aid and life saving. Playa Capitan is next to Playa Zenia, this is a fantastic wide beach with a beach bar and restaurant/bar located on it's doorstep

Playa La Zenia has two main beaches both of which are very popular, again there are beach bars & there is a restarant with lovely panoramic sea views and large terraces both sides, plus a swimming pool (if you don't like getting sand in your pants!)

Playa campoamor is a lovely long beach with a couple of beach bars and and a restaurant near by

Playa Flamenca beach is lovely in the summertime. It is a short distance from La Zenia beach on the Torrevieja side.

Playa Cabo Roig, Playa Zenia, Playa Capitan & Playa Flamenca are connected by a beautiful costal walk, which if your up for it will take a good hour of your time to walk, longer if you stop of at the beach huts for a drink ot three!

Punta Prima beach is quiet and compact and a perfect place to relax in Summer. It is near to the Punta Prima Tower, further up from Playa Flamenca on the Torrevieja side.

At La Rotonda Aparthotel you are within easy reach of the Mar Menor (which is famous for its natural mudpacks with healing properties) on the Costa Calida (which means 'the Hot Coast' in spanish). The Mar Menor is the largest coastal seawater lagoon in Europe, with the result that its waters are noticeably warmer than those of the Mediterranean.
